Fertilization

Fertilizer is a material that supplies one or more of the essential nutrients to plants. This can be applied directly to the soil in either a liquid or dry granular formulation. Complete fertilizers will contain nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.

Not all fertilizers are the same. Before deciding on what type of fertilizer you need, a complete soil test should be done. Test results will indicate what type and how much fertilizer your lawn needs.

As your local expert, One Step knows the unique soil conditions of our area. Years of experience and thousands of soil tests have allowed us to develop our custom blended fertilizer. One Step uses only the highest quality granular, slow-release fertilizers in our lawn care programs.

Rainfall

Healthy, dense lawns absorb rainfall six times more efficiently than a wheat field and four times better than a hay field. Sodded lawns can absorb 10 to 12 times more water than seeded lawns, even after two years of growth, thus preventing run-off erosion.
